Golf Update

It was decided at todays Golf Committee meeting to postpone our Foursomes Championships 27 hole game to 18th August, 2011.  Please let our Captain Aiki Harrigan know if you are unable to play on this date so a new partner can be organised in your place, also if you were unable to play on 16th June but will be available on 18th August also speak to Aiki.

A Par game has been arranged for 16th June, 2011 with a roll up start, weather permitting.  If it is still raining and/or course is closed we will be meeting at the Club at approx. 11am for morning tee.  So do all come along, check both in our room or upstairs in the Sunset Lounge.

Entries open from this Thursday on, for our Singles Knockout which starts on Wednesday 6th July, 2011. Cost to enter is $4.00 then $4.50 on the day to play.    This is a great opportunity for all our ladies to experience a Pennants format and gain experience and to give confidence in putting your name forward  for next years Pennant Teams.  If a Wednesday is not suitable on any particular week arrangements can be made with Captain Aiki to see if the game can be played at a more suitable time during that week.

3BBB Par Qualifying Round is due to be played on 30th June, This is a team of 3 players best 1 score to count and is open to all our members.  If you wish to be in the running to progress to the Zone then each member of your team pays an extra $5 when registering on the morning at the Pro Shop.  The more people registering to go on, the more teams we are able to send to the Zone.  This is a great Comp and any team on the day has the chance to take it out.

Work has started on organising our OPEN DAY 27th October, 2011, the format for the day is Team of 4 best 2 scores to count. We will be having 2 shot gun starts 7.00 for 7.30am and 12.00 for 12.30pm with seperate Presentations. Flyers will be sent to all the district clubs and some further afield.   Please remember when playing at other Clubs open days, with golfers from different club,s to mention our Open Day and if you lik,e to invite those ladies to be on your team on the day. Our Open Day last year was a great success and we are hoping that this years will be even better.

Handicapping   News from NSW Golf arrived this month letting us know that as from 21st September changes will take place in how handicapps will be worked out.  In brief the changes will be 8 best games out of 20 (instead of 10 best)  multiplied by 0.93 instead of 0.96 and they will be introducing an anchor of 4 strokes over 12 months, meaning your handicapp will not be able to blow out over 4 stroke,s but hopefully everyone will be coming down so this will not be necessary.
