There was a real buzz in the air today as 63 ladies competed in the monthly Stroke Competition. The news of our wonderful Pennants wins united members as we celebrated procuring the coveted Margin Shield. It has been 17 years since our last victory and 1992 was the previous victory. Interestingly in 1992 Molly Chapman was Captain and Terrigal won Divisions 2, 3 and 4. Terrigal wasn't able to enter a team in Division 1 so Molly played in the Tuggerah Lakes (now Shelley Beach) team which won the Division 1 Pennants. What an amazing Mother/daughter experience to share 23 years apart!

Division 2 Win.
Today our division 2 team of Cheryl Baker, Mel Sheekey, Kerrie McInerney, Jenny Chapman. Di Ind and Anne Glance (reserves Nareda Leary and Sandra Kunz) had a very tight tussle with Shelly Beach coming out winners 4 games to 2, making us the winners of that division. With our division 3 team already securing 1st place in their division last week we are now the proud holders of the Margin Shield the first time Terrigal has won that shield since 1998. VERY VERY EXCITING. I also think Jenny deserves a big thank you for all her behind the scenes work she has put in this pennant season, and she still was able to be a wonderful captain and player. Thanks Jen.

Division 3 Pennants Team makes history
On Monday our Division 3 Pennants team defeated Toukley at Toukley 5 - 1 to become the only team to come thru all rounds this far without a loss. This means that no matter the result of the final round the Terrigal team will be the winners of the 2015 Division 3 Pennants competition!!!! Congratulations to the team of Veneice Higgin (Captain), Michelle Lee, Susan Muna, Judi Eaton, Cheryl Ledger, Peggy Searle, Viv Ball, Colleen Henry, Nell Spargo and Rhonda Boothman.
Division 2 girls also deserve our praise as they also had not one but two wins on Monday. They defeated the Wyong team 4 1/2 to 1 1/2 and Toukley 6 - 0. Because of 3 postponed weeks Division 2 need to play 2 X 9 Hole games each competition day to make up the time. Division 2 have won three games and squared one in the four games they have played so far. They are currently leading their division with three teams to play. We wish you all the best for the remaining games.

Golf 30 April
Todays 4BBB Par Classic has been postponed due to the condition of the course. There will be a Stableford event which will not be handicapped if you wish to play. Please phone Nickie if you wish to cancel. If you do not contact her she will assume you will be playing. For those who decide not to play you may wish to meet for coffee at the club at 11am.
Charity Day is coming up on July 16
It's time to start thinking about Charity Day organisation for 2015. If you are able to assist with a raffle prize; have some ideas to enhance our day; would like to be involved in running or assisting on one of the tables; etc., etc., please come and talk to Deanne. It's also time to start looking at what's in season to start making those delicious home made jams, pickles, relishes, etc. or, now it's cooler, start working on those craft items. Let's see if we can top last year's total. It's so nice to be able to make a contribution to our local charities.

Can you help with the clean up of our beautiful course
We need your help to restore our course to its normal pristine best. There will be a working bee commencing at 8am tomorrow (Friday 24th). If you can spare any time, come along equiped to pick up debris from this week's storms. Many hands to share the load will mean a quicker and better outcome.

Golf 23 April
There will be no golf on Thursday. Our course has taken quite a battering over the last few days. Fortunately the lake was opened to prevent flooding of residential areas around the lake which helped the course to drain however we have some large trees which have fallen, debris right across the course all made worse by the loss of electricity. Our thoughts go to our green staff who have the massive task to get it back into shape as quickly as possible.
Heroic Division 3 Pennants Team win their 2nd Round
On an extremely wet, wild and windy day last Monday our Division 3 Pennants Team of Michelle, Colleen, Judi, Cheryl Ledger, Peggy and Veneice battled Shelley Beach ladies at Magenta. The wild weather conditions would have defeated most of us but not this hardy bunch playing for their club. What a win. This places our team at the top of the leader board for Division 3. Well done ladies!! We are in awe of you all!!
Division 2 were to play at Wyong. The matches were cancelled due to the atrocious weather conditions. Does this mean that Division 2 ladies (not just our team) are soft??? Or are Division 3 crazy?

Have you got any old bras in the back of your drawers?? Every few years Operation Uplift does a collection of bras to send to women in third world countries who would be most grateful to receive them. Empty those drawers and bring them to Dee Barham who will see that they go where they are most needed.

Cheryl Ledger wins Division 3 of the Toukley Classic
The Toukley Classic was held over two days earlier this week. This is always a very popular tournament with ladies coming to play from near and far. There was a contingent from Lithgow, Sydney and of course all local clubs were represented. The Toukley Club run a very organised, friendly event. It is always a pleasure to arrive and be greeted with friendly faces and a great variety of home made goodies to either eat before you set off or to take with you on the course. Cheryl Ledger was our best performer playing consistently over the two days. She also won the straightest drive for Division 3 on the Tuesday. Sally Hopkins won the straightest drive for Division 1 on Monday. Thank you Toukley for two great days.

* The Easter Novelty Day on 2 April is a team event so start organising your team now

Opening Day Central Coast Women's Golf Assn
Monday 16 February saw 20 Terrigal ladies attend the district Opening Day at Wyong Golf course. It was one of our first opportunities to wear our 'away' uniform. We felt very proud as a number of ladies from other clubs commented on how smart we looked. There was a huge field of aprox. 170 golfers. The team from Mangrove Mountain took out 1st place with Shelley Beach ladies in 2nd place. Our team of Jenny Chapman, Nell Spargo, Kerrie McInerney and Deanne Curby came home with 3rd place. Not bad from such a large field!

A record number of players moved thru the field with very few hold ups. On completion of play we were provided with delicious steak sandwiches cooked by members from the men's club. Our sincere thanks go to these men and to Rick Webb for the tender meat he provided. A lovely treat! Thank you to Judi Eaton for organising this lunch.
