LADIES WANTED
Ladies the men have been having very successful working bees for the last few months and we are reaping the benefit of these. The area under the trees down both sides on the 5th/14th hole for example have been cleaned up so that it is now possible to find our balls easily and help speed up the pace of play.
We need some of our Ladies to volunteer some of their time to uphold our side, the work is not overly strenuous but very satisfying, picking up twigs, weeding gardens etc.
These working bees are now being held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month 8am start in front of the Pro Shop and go for about 2 hours. Breakers puts on a thank you morning tea after the work is done.
Dates are:
2nd and 23rd May 13th and 27th June 11th and 25th July 8th and 22nd August
12th and 26th September 10th and 24th October 14th and 28th November 12th December
This sort of help frees up our Green Staff to enable them to put more time into our Golf Course.
Wayne, Craig and the Boys have been doing a fantastic job with our Course and this is one small way we can acknowledge our appreciation for how good our Course is looking..............

Touching and Rotating Half-Buried Ball in Rough for identification purposes Rule 12-2/2
Q. A ball is half buried in the rough. Having announced her intention in advance to her opponent, marker or fellow-competitor, the player for the purposes of identification touches the ball and rotates it. By so doing she identifies the ball as hers. Is there a penalty?
A. Yes, for touching the ball other than as provided for in Rules (Rule 18-2a) Under Rules 12-2 and 20-1 a ball may be lifted (or touched & rotated) for identification purposes after its position has been MARKED.
If the player had MARKED the position before rotating it, there would be no penalty, assuming the rotating did not result in the ball being cleaned beyond the extent necessary to identify it.
So ladies please make sure you put a MARKER down before touching and rotating or else its a 1stroke penalty.

Clarification of Drop Zone on 9th/18th
Drop Zones on either side of Green are for balls that enter hazards from Drop Zones forward towards green and behind green. Not for Balls that enter hazards coming up to drop zones, there you use the normal rules. ie. 2 club lenghts from where ball last entered hazard, go back and hit from where you hit that ball, go back as far as you like keeping the place you entered and the flag in line (this one is a bit hard to do on the 9/18th.
3Ball Better Ball Par competition is coming up 31st May. So start organising a team and think about paying the extra $5 each so you have a chance of going through to the district. The more teams that enter the more teams we get to send to the district.....anyone can win and this shows in the fact that each year we are sending different teams along.
Also the Wednesday Knockout series is starting soon so keep listening for when you need to put your names down. This is a great way to improve your golf as it is a one on one competition, also good experience for getting a feel for what Pennants Play is like. The more ladies that take part in it the better the competition.
